Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 9 month fixed term Matron Post within the Medical Care Group, working as the Matron for Frailty on the York site. This post will have the opportunity to directly influence and improve the care of patients on our journey to excellence. The Matron role is to provide professional and clinical leadership for all the nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of patient focussed high quality standards of care are delivered to ensure patient safety and a positive patient experience, supporting the delivery of national and local strategic and operational service objectives. Main duties of the job The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate effective professional compassionate leadership, alongside being a competent accountable clinical practitioner who has excellent clinical and leadership skills, and be a role model for the nursing workforce for implementing and sustaining change and patient centred care. You will need to be flexible, enthusiastic, and passionate about the delivery of innovative safe patient centred care. To carry out this role you must have proven management and leadership experience within the acute hospital setting. You will be expected to contribute to the Trusts Duty Matron rota which includes out of hours working on site.
