This vacancy is for an Apprentice CNC Machinist based in Leyland.
This rewarding career requires a broad skill set – math, mechanical design, interpreting technical drawings and programs, and an eye for detail – to properly transform a metal casting into a valuable working machined part.
At Stellar Precision Engineering Ltd., we possess decades of combined experience working within the oil and gas, aerospace, nuclear, automotive, medical, marine, and renewable energy sectors.
We are looking to recruit an Apprentice to join our team.
The training for this role will be delivered in Blackburn on block release, so please bear this in mind when you apply.
The duties include:
1. Safely operate CNC machines, lathes, and milling machines.
2. Offline programming using Fusion 360 software.
3. Programming CNC machines, both lathes and milling machines.
4. Setting of the above machines.
5. Inspection, both on the shop floor and using the coordinate measuring equipment in the inspection room.
6. Mechanical fitting, building assemblies of both customer designs and our own Stellar designed equipment.
Items manufactured will predominantly be small batches of components for core industries such as Nuclear, Motor Industry, Gas and Oil, and Subsea.
Materials range from mild steel, aluminum, stainless steels, plastics, and some exotic alloys.
Training to be provided
L2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing (Foundation Competence).
L2 Diploma in Machining (Foundation Knowledge).
L3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competencies) Machining.
L3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge).
