We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Learning Disability Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Highpoint, a category C Prison located in the village of Stradishall in Suffolk.
Highpoint is a male prison with a capacity of 1370 males. Highpoint Prison offers:

Hours: This role is a permanent position based on 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 9am - 5.30pm with some weekends / Bank Holidays.
Salary: This position is full time; you'll receive an annual salary between £42,094.00 - £47,466.00 per annum FTE - depending on experience. (Refer to national salary template. Add FTE if a part-time role)

Main duties of the job
As a Senior Learning Disability Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Have responsibility for a caseload and be accountable for all aspects of delivering a nursing service for adults with learning disabilities / challenging behaviour, within the criminal justice setting.
* Work with adults whose behaviours have resulted in their offending and coming into contact with the criminal justice system.
* Work with the multi-disciplinary team to undertake person-centred specialist behavioural assessments, planning, and co-ordination of positive non-aversive behavioural approaches to service users.

Qualifications & Experience required
* Registered Nurse Learning Disabilities / NMC
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development
* Substantial experience working with adults with Learning Disabilities with a range of clinical presentations
* Evidence of working in Learning Disability health within a community or inpatient setting.
* Evidence of use of a range of standardized and non-standardized behavioural assessment tools supporting clinical reasoning.
