Divisional Director of Nursing - Unplanned Care
Working in a team with the Chief Operating Officer, Care Group Director and Deputy Director of Operations, the post holder has responsibility for the effective delivery of quality, financial and operational performance of their Care Group including ownership of Key Performance Targets and measures for their services. The Divisional Director of Nursing is responsible for strategic professional leadership in order to ensure and develop a consistently high-quality, cost-effective nursing service for patients, their families and carers with a focus on ensuring patient safety and quality.
Main Duties of the Job
This role will take the lead on quality, safety, and patient experience across the Care Group; contributing to the quality improvement plan as well as contributing to the Corporate Nursing Agenda and having a portfolio that reflects this as delegated by the Chief Nurse.
The Divisional Director of Nursing will have responsibility for the nursing strategy for the Care Group, ensuring effective implementation of both national and local strategies and the achievement of service objectives within the available resources. To enable them to execute this responsibility the post holder is expected to provide proactive and visible leadership. Leadership will span four key areas: service leadership, people and personal leadership, quality leadership and collaborative leadership.
All senior leaders are expected to work as part of a cohesive team and, when necessary, to take lead responsibility for corporate issues outside their immediate sphere of responsibility in order to achieve the corporate objectives of the Trust.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Project Management or significant experience managing complex projects and programmes
* Master's Degree in management or similar level of qualification in relevant field
* Experience of working in a variety of settings across the health economy, with recent experience of working at a senior level within a Community healthcare environment
* Track record of leading change or taking a key role in service improvements within a clinical setting, leading to demonstrable improvements in experience for patients.
* Working knowledge of clinical and corporate governance and information governance
* Evidence of successfully delivering service improvement in a multi-agency and multi-disciplinary environment
* Proven track record in improving patient experience and gaining patient/public views.
* Experience of managing and setting a budget for a range of services, ensuring value for money.
* Excellent IT skills; utilising Microsoft Office packages to manipulate data and associated reporting, develop presentations and create business cases, paying attention to detail and accuracy
