National Grid is hiring a Compensations Specialist on a permanent basis. The location for this role is Warwick - Hybrid working applies (we are flexible with requirements, as long as you are able to visit the office when and if required).
Job Purpose
The Compensation Specialist will provide support to the Compensation Manager in the day-to-day management of all aspects of employee compensation. The Compensation Specialist will also undertake project work relating to key changes or business initiatives as directed by the Compensation Manager.
What you'll do
* Undertake UK Managerial and Staff Benchmarking.
* Lead UK Salary Increase Budget Research.
* Support the development and implementation of a business-aligned compensation strategy.
* Manage and maintain competitive compensation frameworks.
* Conduct external benchmarking and networking to stay informed about market practices and trends.
* Assist in interpreting UK legislation and tax rules for compensation compliance.
* Provide key statistical information and metrics for decision-making and projects.
* Engage key stakeholders to ensure relevance and value of compensation frameworks.
* Produce reports and management information to support business decision making.
* Promote a positive safety culture and report incidents, near misses, and hazards.
About you
* Proven experience of compensation within a large commercial organisation involving practical and detailed application of the existing compensation policies and processes.
* Experience of salary surveys, job evaluation, salary survey, and salary reviews and bonus implementation.
* Knowledge of compensation reporting software desirable.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including complex data modelling.
* Experience of dealing with 3rd party suppliers/contracts desirable.
* Experience communicating and influencing at Senior Manager level.
* Ability to work in a complex challenging and sensitive environment.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills.
* Experience of communicating with Trade Union representatives.
* Experience of continuous improvement desirable.
What you'll get
A competitive salary between £45,000 – £55,000 – dependent on capability. As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
