Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking Theatre Orderlies to join our Perioperative team.

About us
Come and join our expert team of surgeons, specialist doctors, dedicated nurses, and allied health professionals at Newcastle Private Hospital. We are a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres, including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.
We also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite with 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region. Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.
As a Theatre Orderly your responsibilities will include:
1. Delivering excellent service and care to patients
2. Maintaining and cleaning theatre equipment
3. Assisting in patient transportation to and from the Theatre complex
4. Liaising within a multi-disciplinary team
5. Ensuring patient and staff safety
6. Sound knowledge of theatre equipment and safe use practices
7. Organizational skills and completing documentation to a high standard
8. Prior experience in a hospital environment
9. Prior experience as a Theatre Assistant, Wardsman, Orderly or similar (highly desirable)
10. Valid authority to work in Australia
11. Flexibility to work a range of shifts across the breadth of theatre hours
12. Hold a valid NSW Working with Children check for Employment
13. Commitment to Quality Patient Care
14. Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills
15. Excellent communication and customer service skills
16. Ability to work well independently and within a diverse team environment
