We are looking for a Purchasing Officer to join our team in our Head Office at Catherine House, Northminster Business Park York.
As a Purchasing Officer you will be responsible for management of company car fleet, focus on improved purchasing practices – quality and spend. Support inventory management for consumables and support business travel bookings demands.
Comparing market cost analysis across a range of products and services ensuring that the business is achieving market standard or better.
Key Responsibilities for our Purchasing Officer
Work within the Purchasing Policy framework to meet business purchasing needs on indirect products and services through sourcing of required products, negotiating prices and completing purchase requisition process
Raise Purchase orders, GRN POs and reconcile invoices in timely manner
Effectively manage annualised Purchasing Spend up to £500k working within departmental budgets across our breadth of suppliers for Tail- Grade B
Fleet Management – Managing the company car and van fleet including sourcing new vehicles, organising the collection and delivery of vehicles, pool car management, resolving fleet issues with company car users, monitoring milage, manage incident and accident damage issues via our insurers. Booking Services on all company cars
Support the business needs in terms of processing 40% of domestic travel bookings- flights, trains, hotels, car hire etc
Tracking orders and ensuring timely delivery
Co-ordinating consumable requirements for new store openings
Reconciliation of Monthly credit card
Supporting the business in completion of Purchase Ledger Account forms
About you
Experience of working within a Purchasing role or alternatively within fleet administration
CIPS qualification or working towards, beneficial though not essential
Good commercial awareness and understanding of value for money
Negotiation skills
Positive can-do attitude
Personable – strong interpersonal skills
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Ability to manage time effectively by prioritising and re-prioritising as needed
Good communicator (both verbal and written) with the ability to influence
Strong Microsoft skills, including Excel to a proficient level
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Self-driven and ability to work as part of a team
