A global leader in high-end consulting and engineering services is seeking Principal/Associate Mechanical Engineers to join their building services team in Belfast. This expert team offers comprehensive mechanical and electrical engineering solutions, delivering design and installation services across various sectors, including Healthcare, Education, Commercial, and Defence. With a long-standing presence in Northern Ireland, they have a proven track record of successfully completing large-scale projects throughout the region.
Your new role
In this role you will lead and deliver multiple medium to large-scale projects, encompassing all facets of design within mechanical engineering consultancy services. You will be responsible for; undertaking calculations, production of drawings, producing specifications and reports, conducting site surveys, conducting construction stage duties, providing client liaison, consulting with members of design/construction teams and any other relevant duties required to comply with project briefs.
* Production and review of detailed design calculations for all aspects of mechanical design
* Production of specifications and plant schedules
* Production of design notes, basis of design and RIBA stage reports showing compliance with standards and best practice
* Production of design drawings from conception through to detailed design
* Conducting detailed site surveys and inspection of installations
* Mentoring and guidance of junior to intermediate engineers
* Input into fee estimates and bid process
* Support directors with resource planning and managing team workload
What you'll need to succeed
Educated in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or another relevant fieldChartered Engineer or willing to work towardsStrong project management skills in delivering building services projects from concept through to handoverExcellent communication and client-facing skills with the confidence to manage varying client situationsAbility to develop relationships with new and existing clientsUnderstanding of commercial project management and cost controlAmbition and drive to lead and develop a team of engineers and techniciansHigh level of knowledge and experience of Mechanical Engineering and low carbon design with a key understanding of other disciplinesExperience and knowledge of using Revit and Navisworks software. Use of MagiCAD software is desirableCurrent UK Driving LicenceWhat you'll get in return
