We are seeking an experienced and innovative individual to join our management team as the Head of Technical Industries. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our Engineering curriculum, including our new Junior College 14-16 provision in Engineering and 16-18 qualifications at Level 2 initially, with a focus on growth into Level 3 from 2026 onwards.
Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development and implementation of our new Engineering curriculum, working closely with colleagues across the college. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring that curriculum delivery meets the highest standards, while providing support to help all learners thrive and achieve in our dynamic teaching and learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
* To develop and implement the Engineering curriculum, including the Junior College 14-16 provision and 16-18 qualifications at Level 2 initially, with a focus on growth into Level 3 from 2026 onwards.
* To oversee the curriculum delivery, ensuring that it meets the highest standards and provides opportunities for all learners to succeed.
* To work closely with colleagues across the college to ensure that the curriculum is aligned with industry needs and requirements.
* To provide support and guidance to teachers and staff to help them deliver high-quality teaching and learning.
* To contribute to the development of the college's strategic plan, ensuring that the curriculum is aligned with the college's vision and objectives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* A degree-level qualification in a relevant subject, such as engineering or education.
* A recognized teaching qualification (DET/PGCE/CertEd).
* Demonstrable teaching practice at good or outstanding level.
* Experience of curriculum planning and development.
* Proven ability to manage and lead an experienced professional team to deliver results.
