Company Overview:
Our Client are currently looking for a Solar Roofing Engineer to join their highly valued team on a full-time basis.
This exciting role involves the safe installation of solar photovoltaic panels, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and safe operations. As part of our dynamic team, you will contribute to the installation, maintenance, and development of solar energy systems, with a focus on safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Role and Responsibilities:
1. Safely install all mounting systems, cables, and solar panels in compliance with company procedures and solar photovoltaic (PV) installation guidelines.
2. Ensure all work is carried out in line with the training and support provided by the company.
3. Prioritise the safety of all roofing staff, customers, and the general public while on-site, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
4. Provide trade-specific development and mentorship to junior solar roofing engineers, supporting their growth and skill development.
5. Accurately interpret design specifications provided by the company, ensuring installation is carried out to the highest standards.
6. Record and document completed work using company-provided equipment, ensuring all necessary data is logged and stored in compliance with internal systems.
7. Work closely with other team members and supervisors to ensure efficient operations and timely project completion.
Skills and Experience:
1. A Full UK Driving Licence or equivalent (Essential)
2. Previous experience in the installation of solar panels (residential, commercial, or industrial) (Desirable)
3. Practical experience in roofing or construction environments with high safety standards.
4. Familiarity with working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, or cherry pickers.
5. Basic knowledge of electrical systems and solar power integration.
6. Understanding of how solar panels connect to inverters, batteries, and electrical systems.
7. Experience in risk assessments and method statements for working at heights.
8. Relevant qualifications or certifications in electrical systems, solar panel installations, or roofing (e.g., CSCS, NVQ Level 2/3).
9. Scaffolding or working at heights certifications are beneficial.
