Senior Mechanical Engineer Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 (DOE) + Benefits

With a strong reputation for innovation and excellence, they offer full aftermarket support, including spare parts supply, repairs, and overhaul services through a highly skilled workshop and field service team.
We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to take a pivotal role within the Engineering team. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will serve as the bridge between leadership and the engineering team, ensuring technical excellence and innovation.
Leading and managing the Engineering team’s day-to-day workload and workshop activities.
Providing expert mechanical engineering support, including failure analysis and condition assessments.
Reviewing and approving engineering reports, method statements, and design proposals.
Overseeing reverse engineering projects, component testing, and material analysis.
Supporting junior engineers and workshop technicians in their development and daily tasks.
Assisting with supplier approvals, quality control, and process improvements.
Deputising for the Head of Engineering when required.
Qualifications: HNC/HND (or equivalent) in a mechanically biased engineering discipline.
Experience: Minimum 15 years in professional engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Exposure to industries such as Rail, Marine, Power Generation, or Oil & Gas.
Technical Skills: Strong expertise in general engineering, reverse engineering, unit testing, and problem-solving.
Software Proficiency: Familiarity with CAD packages such as Siemens NX, Autodesk Inventor, and Team Centre.
Commercial Awareness: Understanding the impact of engineering decisions on business performance.
Competitive Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 (dependent on experience)
