Our client, a leading player in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking a Principal Engineer - Systems Engineering (Architecture) to join their team on a contract basis. This role is integral to the Submarine Solutions business and involves a hybrid working arrangement with the location in Barrow or Filton.
Key Responsibilities:
* Developing and maintaining model-based systems engineering (MBSE) architecture for submarine systems.
* Utilising modelling tools to create and manage systems models.
* Ensuring system architecture aligns with overall project requirements and standards.
* Collaborating with various stakeholders to integrate system models into the broader engineering environment.
* Providing technical leadership and guidance within the systems engineering domain.
* Reviewing and approving systems engineering documentation and deliverables.
* Conducting technical assessments and evaluations to support project decisions.
* Coordinating with cross-functional teams to manage project timelines and deliverables.
Job Requirements:
* Experience in model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
* Proficiency with modelling tools.
* Understanding of systems engineering principles and best practices within the defence sector.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
* Ability to work effectively in a hybrid working model, spending 2 days on-site per fortnight.
