We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our busy GP surgery team in the centre of Ely in providing excellent pharmaceutical services. Ideally, we are seeking a full-time candidate but will consider part-time hours for the right person if appropriate. Supervision, oversight, and support will be offered from a Clinical Pharmacist, and training will be encouraged.
Main duties of the job
You will have an enthusiasm for patient safety, service development, personal development, and are likely to have experience in either a community pharmacy or primary care setting.
Good communication and IT skills will be vital, and you will be qualified and registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC.
Key tasks include:
* Direct work with patients, including supporting safe medication use, repeat prescription reconciliations, and leading Level 1 medication reviews.
* Liaison with Practice colleagues and partner organisations, including care homes, CCG Medicines Optimisation Teams, and local Pharmacies.
* Supporting safe systems of working, including leading audits, communicating safety alerts, and formulary changes.
* Supporting delivery of contract requirements, including DES contract and QOF targets.

We are based in our lovely, newly redeveloped premises in central Ely which was completed in the summer of 2023. We are a team of 3 Partners, 6 salaried GPs, 3 ANP/ACPs, 1 Clinical Nurse Manager, 12 Practice Nurses, 7 HCAs, supported by experienced Practice, Assistant Practice, and IT managers alongside an excellent dispensary, referrals, and patient services teams who recognise the pressures of the clinical team and work hard to support them.
We are very fortunate to have our PCN staff working with us, including a physio, clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technician, social prescriber, health and well-being coaches, and a drug and alcohol support worker.

Job responsibilities

Person Specification
Experience
* Using IT systems to record, analyse and communicate information accurately.
* More than three years experience working within Primary Care.
* Using the SystmOne clinical system.
* Satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.
* Satisfactory employment references.
Qualifications
* GCSE or equivalent in both Maths and English at Grade C or above.
* Appropriately qualified and registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
