We are now recruiting for the exciting role of C&I Manager RPS, to be involved in an industry-leading, cutting-edge design project for a new type of power station.
You will provide technical expertise across the lifecycle of C&I Systems for the SMR nuclear power plant. This covers the delivery of the complete design of the Reactor Protection System spanning system architecture, sub-system design and equipment specification and design/selection to realize the final verified design of the power station. You will do this by working closely with the engineering teams from across the power station and applying a structured systems engineering approach to design.

Key Criteria and Responsibilities
* Accountable for delivery of the Reactor Protection System’s team’s scope of work.
* Working with Process and Mechanical plant systems Engineers to translate high-level requirements into a specification for Control and Instrumentation (C&I) systems.
* Liaise with other disciplines to understand functional performance capabilities of components and systems to facilitate effective system design.
* Assess and substantiate that the design specification meets the requirements.
* Ensuring compliance against international standards in particular, IEC 61513, IEC 61226 and IEC 61508.
* Produce verification and validation plans and define test plans to demonstrate that the C&I system requirements have been satisfied.
* Support to planning and implementation of policies and procedures related to the lifecycle of C&I systems.
* Ensure that optimum solutions are provided for the RR SMR Nuclear Power Plant by supporting the procurement, operations, and maintenance aspects of the equipment.
* Contribute to the production of safety cases and provide support in liaising with regulators and independent nuclear safety assessors.
* Ensures that quality is maintained throughout the SMR project lifecycle by undertaking appropriate technical reviews and providing the required C&I engineering inputs to the project technical review gates.
* Discusses the C&I system design with external organisations including the nuclear safety regulator, potential customers, and suppliers.
* Manage staff, contract partners, and packages of work with the supply chain.
Pay and Benefits
• Salary - £57,600 - £75,600
• A performance-related bonus of up to 12.5%
• An attractive pension scheme with 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
