Looking for your next opportunity within Manufacturing? We have an exciting opportunity at our Luton site to join the team as a Manufacturing Manager. You will be required to effectively manage and lead the Manufacturing teams for Test and Assembly within Operations at Leonardo. Using the Leonardo Production system (LPS) to monitor KPI’s such as capacity, UPC, DPU and Schedule adherence within the manufacturing areas. Ensuring that all process and procedures are adhered to whilst ensuring customer requirements are met to cost, quality and schedule.
What will you do as Manufacturing Manager
* Achievement of all manufacturing deliverables to schedule, quality and cost targets
* Monitor and report on Manufacturing Plan on time delivery and provide monthly forecasts
* Attend and contribute to Tier meetings to ensure effective escalation of manufacturing concerns
* Manage capacity plans for test and assembly areas ensuring flex of capacity takes place to meet customer requirements
* Lead the use of Production systems and tools within the function
* Main interface for Manufacturing to Operations Management team
* Lean manufacturing input for current and future product build and test
* Champion continuous improvement within the Manufacturing areas
* Manage and coach Team Leaders with regular career conversations
* Review of wider Manufacturing teams skills matrix and development plans
* Ensure all training requirements are up to date (ie IPC)
* Report monthly Production output against forecasts highlighting risks
* Using LPS (Leonardo Production System) to work with other functions to gain efficiencies in UPC, Span time and schedule adherence
What we need from you:
* Highly effective interpersonal skills; excellent communicator, strong written, verbal and presentation skills. Experienced in influencing and negotiating with multiple stakeholders.
* Demonstrated experience in Manufacturing and Test roles
* Experience in delivering key manufacturing improvement projects
* Leadership and delivery experience in a high technology, low volume, manufacturing environment (ideally for the Defence Industry) with a proven record of accomplishment.
* An individual that embraces change, drives continuous improvement and has the ability to influence stakeholders
* Knowledge of AS9100 / ISO9001 and experience in supporting audits and accreditation efforts.
* Experience of working with SAP (or similar ERP system) within a Manufacturing context.
* Understanding of Scenario and Capacity Planning, MRP and SIOP.
* Good understanding of HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) legislation.
