The Opportunity
You will be required to safely carry out the duties described across multiple areas of the plant. Working on days as part of a wider team.
The Process Day Operator has a plant-wide remit to support the operations effort and to maintain the plant in a state of audit readiness from a housekeeping perspective. This will involve discharge of duties across all plant areas to carry out any task they have been deemed competent to do, provided that such activity can be completed safely.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
Preparation and set-up of the packing system on T700 bulk bag packing machine in line with standard instructions.
Ensuring all packaging, equipment, labelling, and raw materials are available for the specific planned product and tonnage.
Working closely under the guidance of the FLM and plant management to meet set KPI’s.
Adherence to packing guidelines for:
Sampling.
Pack presentation.
Labelling.
Weight control.
Reworking.
Adhering to good manufacturing practice.
Active involvement complying with safety, environmental and Company standards, including:
Auditing.
Reporting.
Team improvement activities.
Housekeeping in multiple areas.
Preparation and set up of powder tanker loading / unloading operations on #4 microniser tanker loading station and Sorbosil silo areas.
Loading Tankers from T353 loading platform supporting the #4 Microniser operator.
Communicate both verbally and in a written format, in a timely fashion.
Completion of batch documentation, handover, assisting others to improve knowledge and understanding.
Cleandown of process equipment and packing / filling / discharge areas, maintaining FSSC22000 standards in accordance with scheduled systems across all plant areas with specific responsibility around press and other defined locations.
Provide short-term 5-crew shift cover in certain clearly defined periods to support the plant operation if trained to do so.
Play a key role in the scheduled maintenance days on the main plant – liaising and supervising contractors during sludge uplifts and other activities in the Precips tank farm / gully locations. collecting and collating relevant Duty of
Care paperwork from both these planned activities and ad-hoc waste silica transfers for management to maintain the plants compliance with Waste procedures.You will have the following qualifications & experience
Relevant Industrial experience - mandatory.
Manual Handling skills (formal training) - preferable.
Experience of shift working - preferable.
Units and elements of CIA Process Plant Operations or NVQ level 1 - desirable.
Current FLT - counterbalance - desirable.
Previous experience in food, food, feed, or pharma setting - desirable.The setting for the role
Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a chemical and manufacturing site. These can include, chemical burns, trips and falls, overexertion, cuts and scrapes, chemical exposure, inhalation of chemicals, confined spaces, heavy machinery and equipment, electrical hazards, machine guarding, sudden or loud noises, moving vehicles and working at height. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
