Who are DG:
There’s no place like DG! We are biased but we do believe that what we have built is a fantastic team culture experience.
To share a little bit about our culture, we have 27 behaviours that sit beneath our 3 core values. Our culture was developed by all team members within DG and we hold ourselves accountable to each other for living and breathing our cultural values.
We spend a good amount of time with colleagues, so it’s important that we not only have a great team ethos, but a work environment that encourages open and honest conversations which is supported by our coaching culture, lifelong learning and development opportunities.
Did you know that in November 2023, we won the Hampshire Business Award’s category for commitment to education, training and skills?! Our entry into this was largely based on the internal learning programmes that we offer at varying stages of our people’s careers. We believe that everyone who comes to us should have the opportunity to experience a full career with us, regardless of their role.
What is the role doing:
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor or Legal Executive to join our team based in our brand new Woking office.
Suitable candidates will be well established in Surrey and surrounding areas and will be seeking a long-term opportunity where you can continue to develop your career in a supportive environment, both in terms of team ethos and support with your work.
You may have a specialism within Commercial Property or you may have good general knowledge. This role will involve working on a range of different types of Commercial Property transactions, so a variety of experiences would be beneficial.
What do we look for:
You’ll be passionate about providing a high level of service to your clients; this is integral to us and so it’s a high priority for us that you share this core value.
To work at DG, you will want to be part of something bigger than just your team, you’ll want to live and breathe our values & behaviours, you’ll want to work with other teams within the firm, cross referring work and seeking advice from one another. You will value and respect all our team members for the work that they do and the part they play in DG reaching its goals and in return, you can expect the same level of respect and trust.
Communication and authenticity is of paramount importance, you will be someone who wants to have open and honest conversations. You will be passionate about helping others and continuing learning and development.
What will we offer in return:
A competitive salary. We don’t advertise salary bandings and this is simply for the reason that we do not wish to deter candidates who may not apply otherwise. We will always be realistic with salary right from the outset and you are free to have an open and honest conversation with our internal recruiter at the very start of the process to ensure that your expectations can be met.
We have a host of benefits to include car parking, health cashback scheme, pension scheme, life assurance, bonus scheme, one to one coaching, referral bonuses, social events, free flu vaccinations and other benefits centred around charity. Our standout benefit is our hybrid working policy. We have no plans to ask people to return to the office full time. For some roles, there is a need for more office working and we will always discuss this at the outset of the process, so there are no surprises at the end of the process. For this role, after a period of settling in, you will need to be in the office 2 or 3 days a week to ensure the smooth running of the department.
We have a number of groups and committees to get involved with such as charities, EDI, Wellbeing, Green and projects. We are also a social bunch and love to meet up outside of working for bowling, quizzes and our other firmwide events like our annual AGM and Christmas Party. We also love raising money for charity and you may have seen various DG team members abseiling the Spinnaker Tower, hosting bake sales, working with charities to support their events and lots of other initiatives.
What our team members say:
I love working at DG as the firm is progressive and moving with the times in terms of structure and infrastructure enabling flexible working and a great work life balance. I also love the fact that everyone is so approachable and it doesn’t matter what position they hold there is always someone happy to help and a great sense of teamwork.
