AWE is currently recruiting for a Procurement Specialist to support the procurement of capital investment projects covering construction, site infrastructure improvements, and asset replacement, refurbishment, and demolition. Let us introduce the role You will report into the Principal Procurement Manager and be part of a central procurement team, playing a supporting role in the development and delivery of strategic sourcing events, supporting one of the UK’s largest and most strategic infrastructure investments over the next 15 years. You will be part of a category team made up of around 5 procurement professionals, working in a matrix environment. The Procurement Specialist role involves supporting the implementation of AWE procurement strategy, market engagements, and tender execution while ensuring compliance to procurement regulations and commitments to equality, fairness, and transparency. The role includes day-to-day procurement of complex infrastructure solutions, managing systems like our Purchase to Pay system, eSourcing Portal, and procurement mailboxes. You will manage clarifications with tenderers during the procurement process, ensuring robust and auditable records are maintained. You will support the Procurement management team in developing and implementing improved procurement processes, contribute to a culture that shares best practice and strives to continuously improve, ensuring compliance with government procurement regulations and AWE’s structured procurement processes. Who are we looking for? We are looking for someone with experience in regulated procurement, possibly at various stages in their career. You may have contract management experience and be looking for a change to a pre-contract role. Have regulated procurement experience, operating within the bounds of the Public, Utilities, or Defence and Security Contract Regulations. Have experience in a complex or construction industry such as defence, nuclear, utilities, highways, etc. Have an eye for detail and strive to get things right first time. Desire to grow, develop, and progress within your role. Proficient in MS Office products (especially Excel and PowerPoint). Proficient in MS Teams and SharePoint. Pro-active and able to plan against multiple priorities. A team player who prioritises the needs of the many. You will also be CIPS Level 4 qualified, or willing to work towards this as part of your ongoing development plan.
