Job Description
Qualified Social Worker, Wakefield Council, Adult Initial Assessment Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within an Adult Social Work team.
The team works extremely well together to ensure the safety of vulnerable adults under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager.
The responsibilities will include:
1. Interact with people with a range of needs such as physical disabilities, older people, cognitive needs, learning disabilities, drugs and alcohol needs, mental health needs, homelessness, and offending.
2. The team triages the referrals, provides advice and signposting, takes any immediate action, and directs referrals to appropriate teams.
3. Understanding of Care Act 2014 particularly in relation to wellbeing, prevention, and assessment.
4. Experience of working confidently with s.42 Care Act enquires with the ability to analyse and prioritise risks.
5. Liaise with other professionals.
6. 36 hours per week (flexible by negotiation).
7. 2 Month Temporary Contract.
8. Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance.

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent, must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS, and be a car driver.
