Job summary Bed Turnaround Team Enhanced Cleaning Division: Estates and Facilities Care Group: Soft FM Band: 2 Salary: £23,615 per annum The Bed Turnaround Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring patient flow and infection control within the hospital. This role is responsible for allocating and managing bed cleaning and portering teams through the Care Coordination Centre, ensuring all bed spaces, including those requiring enhanced and deep decontamination, are turned around efficiently to meet NHS standards. The BTT team is a specialised cleaning team trained to handle all levels of environmental decontamination across the hospital, from green to red cleans, including enhanced cleans, deep cleans, terminal cleans, and infection outbreak response cleans. The post holder will also ensure that all necessary protocols, COSHH, site Health & Safety, and infection control procedures are strictly followed. Main duties of the job The Bed Turnaround Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring efficient patient flow and infection control at Medway Maritime Hospital. The BTT team specialises in deep, enhanced, and terminal cleans, ensuring decontamination from green to red cleans using advanced UV light disinfection and COSHH-compliant chemicals. Responsibilities include coordinating cleaning tasks via TeleTracking, liaising with clinical teams, and ensuring compliance with NHS infection prevention guidelines. The role requires monitoring KPIs, auditing cleaning standards, and addressing infection control breaches. Additional duties include staff training, emergency response cleaning, and improving cleaning protocols. Strong communication, infection control knowledge, and leadership skills are essential.
