An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Child Disability Team. This is a Band 7 permanent post for 15 hours per week (2 days) based at Cimla Hospital, Neath.
This is a community-based role requiring travel between clinics, client's homes and Local Authority buildings.
The successful applicant will work opposite an established Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist to ensure the service offers cover 5 days a week.
Main duties of the job
The Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist:
1. Participates in assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating care for patients/clients as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
2. Offers specialist support to the team with complex families in the service.
3. Works within the ALN framework, carry out and delegate responsibilities as needed and will maintain record keeping in line with professional and health board policies, delegated administration, and clerical duties.
4. Provides a family centred public health service by contributing to assessing any emerging ALN needs through a multidisciplinary focused environment to support children and their families within the ALN process.
5. Actively works in partnership with members of the child disability team, wider health visiting team and voluntary and statutory agencies as appropriate to ensure transparency and efficiency of the ALN process, attending meetings as needed.

Qualifications & knowledge
Essential
* Registered Nurse & current NMC registration
* Master's Degree or equivalent experience - specialist qualifications, expert level of knowledge in clinical speciality
* Knowledge of service improvement
* Able to undertake a literature search & critically appraise research papers
* Awareness of current developments within the NHS
Desirable
* Teaching qualification (or equivalent experience)
* Management qualification (or equivalent experience)
* Advanced clinical skills
* Non-medical prescribing (v300)

* Experience in the relevant specialty. Experience of working in a multiprofessional environment
