Their services include architecture, building surveying, building services engineering, planning, interior design, sustainability, civil and structural engineering, quantity surveying, project management, CDM, and health and safety services. Your New Role Our Client is currently seeking a Senior Building Services Engineer to join its Cambridge office. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing engineering support to the Practice, offering expertise in the field of electrical engineering within the built environment for design and project management purposes Candidates should be aware that this role may be subject to various clearances, including Disclosure and Barring Service, Baseline Personnel Security Standard, Counter Terrorist Check, Security Check, or Developed Vetting. The successful candidate will: Meet clients to establish project briefs and develop cost-effective engineering solutions. Ensure that designs not only meet functional requirements but also comply with relevant legislation, codes of practice, CIBSE guides, building regulations, and best practices, with consideration for environmental impact. Engage with statutory authorities regarding matters affecting incoming services to buildings. Prepare budget costs for client review and create tender documentation. Project manage site works from start to finish, monitoring compliance with specification requirements. Conduct inspections of existing installations, submit condition reports, and reconcile contractor final accounts. Meet target fees set by the Practice. Maintain an overview of the teams work commitments and collaborate with other teams within the organisation to ensure timely project completion. Manage, develop, and guide direct reports to achieve Practice objectives. Attend networking events to secure new business. Monitor time expenditure on projects regularly and address overruns with the line Partner/Team Lead to determine corrective measures if available. Key qualifications, expertise, and qualities: · Degree/master's in Engineering. · Membership in the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers and/or The Energy Institute (or equivalent) - Preferred. · Chartered Engineer status or in the process of obtaining it. · Possession of a full driving licence and access to a vehicle. · Demonstrated track record of consistently meeting deadlines. · Proficiency in the use of IES (Mechanical) or Amtech (Electrical) design software. · Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Revit. · Familiarity with relevant legislation, codes of practice, CIBSE guides, building regulations, and best practices.
