A fantastic SEN school in Newbury are searching for an SEN Classroom Assistant to work on a 1:1 and group basis with students with special educational needs. The school are looking for someone who can start ASAP and can commit full-time (Monday to Friday).
You will be supporting students aged 3 to 18 with a range of needs - Autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, behavioural challenges, sensory issues, physical disabilities and communication difficulties to name a few. As a valued member of staff, you will be supporting the team in dealing with situations ranging from behaviour/well-being situations and emotional regulation. You will also be working closely with the SENCo and class teachers to ensure each student is completing their learning objectives and are supported mentally, emotionally and academically.
The ideal SEN Classroom Assistant will be able to work well under pressure, and be able to handle challenging situations. You will need to be compassionate, caring and be able to bring a positive energy to the classroom.
