You'll play a key role in protecting Skyscanner against security risks and vulnerabilities by implementing ground breaking measures to minimise exposure to external threats. We will look toward your experience and skills to solve problems at scale. Whether influencing a roadmap to address a technical security hurdle and protecting our customers' data - you'll be empowered to engage and work multi-functionally. You'll assist the Security team in setting the vision, roadmap, assessing risks and efforts to protect our Products, Applications and Mobile presence. As a member of the squad, you'll need to be proactive, humble and eager to learn. And whatever the problem, you'll work hard to connect the dots to help find the right solution by sharing ideas and working with your team to deliver positive outcomes. Key Responsibilities and Criteria You'll contribute to the Security roadmaps, sharing ideas with the rest of the squad and finding opportunities to share with other teams across the business. You'll support the review and implementation of security controls and policies to protect Skyscanner's data, systems and employees You'll have a growth mindset, with the ability to connect it to organisational awareness, and not be afraid to learn or make mistakes You'll help develop automation and utilise frameworks to scale both protection and mitigation tools You'll support security incidents, and proactively consider how to prevent the same type of incidents from occurring in the future You'll support the coordination of cohesive responses to security events that involve multiple teams across the organisation You'll contribute to building security utilities and tools for internal use that enable the team to operate efficiently at scale You'll have an understanding of cloud native security tooling and infrastructure (AWS WAF, Kubernetes) You'll help to evaluate the impact to the organisation of current security trends, advisories, publications, and academic research You'll have excellent communication skills at multiple levels of sensitivity to influence across the organisation You'll contribute to the adoption of standard methodologies in security engineering throughout the organization, including network security, security operations, incident response, threat intelligence, and security automation. Embody our values, especially keeping the traveller at the centre of all considerations Knowledge and experience: Experience with configuration and automation as code, with knowledge of software/security engineering and DevSecOps supporting multiple platforms and applications (Python knowledge would be advantageous) Experience and knowledge of cloud native security tooling, comfortable operating within a cloud infrastructure focused environment Experience with security endpoint protection solutions and intrusion detection Knowledge of risk assessment tools, technologies and methods Knowledge of incident recovery, technologies and methods (including supporting out of hours incident response rotas) Experience of planning, researching and developing security policies, standards and procedures Already a global leader in travel, we want to elevate the way we work to a whole other level.
