Then we may have the role for you York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management (YTHFM) are looking for an approachable and flexible Cleaning and Catering Operative to join our team in Malton. Experience is not necessary as full training will be given, but a willingness to learn and develop your skills is essential. Additional hours may also be available at times, for those who wish to work them. Main duties of the job The main responsibilities of the role are maintaining levels of cleanliness throughout a designated area, and provide a catering service on the wards. Your duties will include, but are not limited to; Ensuring that the ward/area you are assigned to is cleaned in accordance with the work schedule for that area. This will include lifting items and operating cleaning machinery, some of which is industrial standard Undertaking specialist cleaning as required under the guidance of the Facilities Supervisor and/or Nurse in Charge and/or Infection Prevention Department Assisting with the distribution of meals to wards Plating up of meals, ensuring the dietary requirements of patients are met Making and distributing hot drinks and cleaning and refilling water jugs You will work without immediate supervision so must be able to prioritise and use your own initiative. Tasks may need to be completed under time and other pressures but you will maintain standards and pride in your work. We are looking for people who are able to read, write and converse in English.
