Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Handling System (DHS) Engineer to join our transnational division. This role involves working on the Data Handling Systems of spacecraft developed by Defence and Space, focusing on Earth Observation, Science, Space Exploration, Telecommunication, and Navigation missions.
Key Responsibilities:
System Engineering: Perform trade-off studies to meet program/customer requirements.
Hardware Subsystem Architecture: Define the platform OBDH hardware subsystem architecture to meet the DH system performance requirements, including electrical interfaces, data throughput, and processing speed.
Equipment Requirements: Define the DH Equipment requirements, prepare specifications, and act as the focal point for the equipment technical requirements capture.
Interface Management: Manage the electrical, mechanical, and environmental interfaces to the DH Equipment.
-Data Interfaces: Manage the data interfaces between the spacecraft platform and the payload instruments, the mass memory unit, and the crypto unit.
Housekeeping Interfaces: Manage the housekeeping (command and telemetry) interfaces between the payload and platform Units and the On-Board Computer.
Data Handling Budgets: Define and manage data handling budgets, TM/TC, Bus traffic, Processor speed, etc.
Supplier Management: Support the Satellite Project commercial management of the DH Equipment Suppliers by advising on technical, schedule, and cost relationships.
Development Responsibility: Act as development responsible for NREC equipment or validate the performance of REC equipment.
Testing and Verification:Test and verify the Data Handling Subsystem, both electrically and functionally, and provide support in the verification of the different platform subsystems where the Data Handling Subsystem is interfacing.
Collaboration: Serve as a privileged interface with Chief Engineering, other architects (mechanical, thermal, power, electrical, EMC, environment, PL, SW, Comms), and with the end customer.
System Reviews: Prepare, present, and closeout system reviews.
Launch & IOT Activities: Responsible for launch and in-orbit support activities.
Accountability: Accountable for OTOQOC (On-Time, On-Quality, On-Cost) delivery.
Technical Skills:
Engineering Disciplines: Experience in Systems Engineering, Electronics, Electromagnetics, Protocols, Software, Security, Simulators & Test Means Technologies.
Technical Tools: Proficient in the use of Simulation tools, CAD, Hardware test benches, and data handling hardware subsystem architecture.
- Language: Proficient in Technical English.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in data handling systems.
- Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
