Your New Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Trunk Road Incident Support Service Operative (TRISS Op) to join our dynamic team in our NMC SW account, at our Perth depot.
Our NMC North Account, awarded in 2022, supports Transport Scotland to deliver improved service levels to the trunk road network, ensuring consistent, predictable, and reliable journeys for road users. Works will cover maintenance, road safety, bridges, structures, and discrete improvement schemes while considering the Scottish Government's climate change and sustainability targets. We will also implement an enhanced winter and incident response service, improved communications, and new technologies for better management of trunk network assets and maintenance activities.
The standard hours of work are 42 hours per week working shifts 4 on 4 off based on dayshift 06:30 - 18:30.
You will be responsible for:
* Responding to notifications of incidents from various Operational Partners, ensuring they are deemed safe through temporary traffic management.
* Relieving congestion and removing hazards from traffic lanes and hard shoulders, providing high visibility patrols on the routes, and arranging for immediate repairs where the Trunk Road infrastructure is damaged.
* Aiding broken down vehicles, including assisting them to safe locations and offering fuel.
* Monitoring and reporting unusual or unexpected activity, disruption, and/or congestion.
* Providing constant communication between the site, Operational Partners, and the Incident Liaison Officers.
* Assessing the scene and securing the attendance of additional or specialist resources where necessary.
