Working hours: 37 Hours (7.24 Monday – Friday) Contract Type: Permanent/Full Time Location: Ty Penallta / Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements. This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Financial Services Team. We pay an attractive salary of £37,938 - £40,476 and offer access to training and development opportunities. We are recruiting an Assistant Accountant who will support the Finance Manager and assist in the management of the busy Housing Finance Team, which provides essential financial support to the Housing Directorate. The post holder will assist in all aspects of financial support for Caerphilly Homes including the Housing Revenue Account, General Fund Housing, Private Housing and the Housing Capital programme. They will assist in ensuring all financial services are provided in the most efficient and effective manner, in line with Council policies, Financial Regulations, Standing Orders, legislation and best practice The successful candidate will support the team by providing appropriate support and advice and covering as appropriate for the line manager For the role, we ask that you have: A relevant Level 4 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales preferably with a numeracy link. Or Level 4 Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) or equivalent. Knowledge of Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) Code of Practice on Local Authority Accounting.
