Job Summary The Accounting Systems & Innovation Manager will provide leadership and expertise of the functional and technical areas in the Office of Finance. Primary duties include analyzing and interpreting complex financial and/or operational issues, developing technological processes to support departmental and University success, identification and implementation of improvements to, training on, and back up for the Cardinal reconciliation process, and special projects. This position will also serve as a liaison between IT and the Office of Finance, identifying areas of need in the department, partnering with IT to request new or ensure the accuracy of existing reports, regularly auditing reports for accuracy. This position is also responsible for analyzing and providing technical support for accounting functionality, managing an operational efficiency program, and ensuring the technical training of staff. Minimum Qualifications Masters Degree in Accounting/Finance/IT or equivalent combination of education and experience. Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP, GASB, financial accounting/general ledger experience and their application to fund accounting. Considerable technical knowledge of various Accounting Software, SIS, and CRM systems. Considerable knowledge of and ability to analyze complex business processes and demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively. Strong collaboration skills working with diverse teams. Possess effective communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to extract, synthesize and transform data into management information. Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and interpret administrative policies and procedures. Demonstrated ability to use a variety of PC-based word processing and spreadsheet software such as MS Excel, MS Access, MS Word, to record, reconcile, monitor, and report data. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team. Preferred Qualifications CPA / CPA candidate preferred.
