Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Reports to Admissions Manager
2. Handling and processing of enquiries relating to admission and funding matters
3. Organising pre-authorisation of insurance prior to admission and establishing funding arrangements for self-funding patients
4. Meeting new in-patients on or after admission to complete admission and insurance paperwork, and collect deposits and finalise financial arrangements where appropriate
5. Liaison with consultants, medical secretaries and insurance companies to ensure up-to-date insurance authorisations for in-patients
6. Creation of twice daily bed state report
7. Maintenance of patient databases
8. Handling of enquiries from doctors, family members, potential patients
9. Attending meetings
Key Personal Attributes
The following skills / attributes would be highly desirable for this role:
Administrative / Customer Service background
Self-motivated
Excellent interpersonal skills face-to-face, as well as telephone-based
Team player
Proven verbal communication skills to all levels (including patients, consultants, senior management)
Proven ability to work to deadlines
IT literate
Some experience/knowledge of psychiatric care would be an advantage
Confidence to handle highly-charged / emotional situations
