Henderson Retail is our company-owned retail division, which operates more than 100 SPAR, EUROSPAR & VIVOXTRA stores, employing more than 3,700 colleagues.

The Purpose of the role:
Working as part of the Loss Prevention Team, the Assistant Loss Prevention Manager will play a key role in supporting the Loss Prevention Manager.
They will ensure that financial and operational controls are in place and functioning effectively from a risk and control perspective. This will be achieved through Loss Prevention checking and by aiding the Loss Prevention and Accounts Teams. Working three days in stores and two days in the office.
Working as Assistant Loss Prevention Manager you will:
* Conducting loss prevention checks in designated areas on a quarterly basis.
* Safeguard company assets, ensure operational efficiency, and maintain compliance with policies, regulations, and legislation.
* Support the Loss Prevention Manager in executing a risk-based annual audit plan, providing assurance on store operations and risk management.
* Supervise investigations into theft and fraud cases, ensuring compliance with internal standards.
* Follow up on outstanding control recommendations and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
* Train and support Store Managers and Area Managers through tailored workshops or sessions.
* Build and manage a motivated audit team, ensuring efficient resource allocation and delivery of audit services.
* Report audit findings clearly and concisely to management, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
* Promote strong corporate governance and internal control practices across the business.

Skills for Success
Joining us as Assistant Loss Prevention Manager the minimum criteria you’ll need is:
* Possess a minimum of GCSE qualifications in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
* A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a retail or loss prevention role.
* Experience of coaching or leading a team.
* Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications.
* Hold a valid, up-to-date UK/EU driving licence
The Attributes you’ll need include:

* Proven ability to build strong internal relationships across different levels of an organisation, actively collaborating with commercial departments to achieve shared goals.

It is Desirable if you have:
* A third-level degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
* Knowledge of EDGEPOS system
* Previous experience of business change and/ or process improvements initiatives
* Experience in Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or food retail sectors.
* Strategic focus with ability to align project objectives with strategic goals.

This is a full-time position working 36.5 hours per week. Working hours will be 8:45am-4:45pm Monday to Thursday and 8:45am-3:45pm Friday.
Two weekend shifts per calendar month are required.These shifts can be completed across two separate weekends or over a single weekend, covering one Saturday and one Sunday shift.
