Lighting Technician\n Salary: £35,688.15\n Location: Nottingham - working around Midlands / North of England\n\nThe Opportunity\n\nWe are currently recruiting for a Lighting Technician to join a leading facilities management provider, delivering high-quality planned maintenance and emergency repair work across supermarket stores. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to work within a dynamic team and contribute to maintaining high standards of lighting efficiency and safety.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nConduct planned maintenance repairs on store lighting systems, ensuring compliance with company and health & safety standards.\n\nDevelop and maintain professional relationships with supermarket colleagues and internal teams.\n\nComplete PPM schedules within agreed timelines and ensure all documentation is accurately completed.\n\nRespond promptly to service call requests, assessing and executing necessary repairs efficiently.\n\nPrioritise maintenance tasks to meet agreed response times.\n\nOrder necessary parts and equipment, following company procedures.\n\nManage the hiring and use of plant and equipment as required.\n\nIdentify non-repairable lighting faults and provide recommendations for replacements.\n\nReport any maintenance issues affecting store operations to the appropriate contacts.\n\nSupport other lighting technicians as required and collaborate with the wider facilities team.\n\nSupervise and guide Lighting Mates, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.\n\nStay updated with training and industry developments to maintain competency.\n\nRequirements\n\nEssential:\n\nRecognised electrical qualification.\n\n18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.\n\nExperience in lighting maintenance and repair, including various lighting types (e.g., filament, fluorescent, mercury vapour, sodium, low voltage, car park lighting).\n\nProficiency in using steps, ladders, and high-access equipment.\n\nStrong communication and problem-solving skills.\n\nCustomer-focused and self-motivated with a proactive attitude.\n\nFull UK driving licence.\n\nDesirable:\n\nIPAF 1b, 3a, and 3b certification.\n\nPrevious experience working within retail environments.\n\nAdditional Information\n\nThis role requires flexibility, with occasional overnight stays and potential night shifts.\n\nCompetitive salary and benefits package available.\nIf you are a skilled Lighting Technician looking for your next opportunity within a well-established and reputable organisation, apply today!\n\nCalibre Search promote equality in the workplace and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified candidates regardless of their sex, race, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age.
