Qualifications
Essential Criteria
* You must have a recognised qualification in: Registered Nursing: RMN/RSCN/RNMH, Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Social Work (CQSW/DipSW), Occupational Therapy. You must be registered with a professional body, e.g., NMC, UKCP, HCPC, BACP.
Experience and Knowledge
Essential Criteria
* Experience of providing evidenced-based assessments, formulations and treatment packages to children, young people and families.
* Experience of working with children in paediatric health settings.
* Experience of multidisciplinary teamwork.
* Experience of consulting with health care and other professionals.
* Knowledge of legislation and national guidance in relation to the needs of children.
* Experience of assessing and managing risk, including safeguarding.
* Experience of caseload management working within a multi-disciplinary mental health setting.
Skills
Essential Criteria
* Ability to plan and prioritise own caseload.
* Ability to select, use and interpret a range of psychological measures including cognitive and developmental assessments.
* Ability to formulate clinical problems using psychological theory.
* Ability to integrate psychological theories and outcome data with clinical practice and service provision.
* Ability to assess needs, plan, implement and evaluate appropriate interventions with children and parents/carers across the age range.
* Skills in planning and delivering evidence-based interventions with children and parents.
* Demonstrate sensitivity in all contact with disadvantaged groups.
* Ability to work with people from different backgrounds, cultures and of different ages.
* Good skills in communicating with children, parents and colleagues.
* Ability to cope with stressful interpersonal situations including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the case of highly emotive and distressing problems and the threat of verbal and physical abuse.
* Ability to use assessment tools and outcome measures effectively and in collaboration with the child, young person and family.
* Demonstrable extensive therapeutic skills.
* The ability to work independently and autonomously.
