Job Title: Business Development Manager
Location: Cradley Heath, West Midlands (covering national area from Scotland to the South Coast of England)
Reporting To: Sales Director
Package: 30-35K + Bonus + Car allowance + Benefits
Travel Requirement: 3 days a week on the road; 2 days in the office; occasional overnight stays (fully expensed)

Role Overview:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving both existing customer business (65%) and new business acquisition (35%) within the national territory of the UK, from Scotland down to the South Coast of England. You will focus on developing and nurturing relationships with existing clients, identifying opportunities for cross-selling, and exploring new leads and prospects to expand the customer base.
This role involves substantial fieldwork, with the expectation of being on the road three days a week (when the business needs require it), meeting clients, and identifying new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will be based within a commutable distance of Cradley Heath and have 2 years experience in sales. The role would be well suited to someone with internal sales experience who is looking to take the next step in their career.
Key Responsibilities:
Existing Client Management (65%):
* Develop strong relationships with existing customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
* Identify opportunities for cross-selling additional products and services within existing accounts.
* Collaborate with the customer service and project teams to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
New Business Development (35%):
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the customer base across the national territory.
* Generate and follow up on leads to convert them into new customers.
* Develop tailored sales strategies for new business opportunities.
Sales Strategy and Reporting:
* Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and achieve revenue targets.
* Maintain a pipeline of opportunities and regularly report on sales activities and forecasts to senior management.
Travel & Fieldwork:
* Travel across the national territory to meet with clients, attend industry events, and conduct site visits.
* Occasionally work overnight on business trips (fully expensed by the company).
Training & Development:
* Participate in extensive training, including product training, sales techniques, and management development.
* Engage in continuous learning and development to enhance performance in the role.
Candidate Requirements:
* Experience:
* A background in sales, ideally with experience in account management or new business development.
* Industry experience is not required—what we value most is a confident, motivated attitude and a willingness to learn and grow within the business.
Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and effectively manage time, ensuring all client relationships are nurtured.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Personality:
* A self-starter with a proactive approach to business development.
* A problem solver, capable of identifying and responding to customer needs quickly and effectively.
* Confident and engaging with the ability to build long-lasting customer relationships.
* Location:
* Based within a reasonable commuting distance of Kee Safety’s head office in Cradley Heath (West Midlands).
* Travel:Ability to travel nationally as required (3 days a week on average).
* Occasional overnight stays as part of the role.
