We use science to save lives, and so can you. We are currently recruiting for a Scientific Assistant to join the Analytical Development and Quality Control (ADQC) team. The purpose of this role is to provide and schedule essential laboratory activities and services to support the ADQC department. Our Analytical Services Group supports the development of products through analytical testing to facilitate manufacturing and process development, ensuring appropriate quality controls and use of analytics. Your responsibilities in this role would be: Support the scheduling and perform cell line maintenance for ADQC and other OXB departments Schedule and calibrate key analytical equipment, minimizing impact to assay scheduling Coordinate general laboratory maintenance activities, including cleaning and stock management Perform cleaning, maintenance, monitoring, and stock management of CL3 laboratory suites Lead the ADQC pipette clinic, liaising with the calibration team and troubleshooting Support the preparation and testing of control materials Ensure timely ordering and preparation of oligos with no impact to testing Raise quality records including deviation, CAPA, and change control Oversee, maintain, and ensure the quality of key stock consumables, media, solutions, and buffers used by scientists Assist scientific teams to ensure CL2 & CL3 laboratory suites meet regulatory compliance Maintain health and safety compliance in CL2 & CL3 laboratory facilities Manage the FMS phone and assist Laboratory Owners in managing individual laboratories Respond to unplanned facility emergencies Train others in core Scientific Assistant functions Lead and organize RCA and OOS/OOT/OOE investigations as SME We are looking for: Level 2 - GCSE English and Maths Knowledge and understanding of efficient and effective laboratory working practices Ability to read, write legibly, and perform basic maths Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook GMP knowledge and understanding Aseptic technique and tissue culture techniques Calibration of instruments and use of pipettes Strong initiative to solve problems and improve working practices Ability to challenge current practices and suggest new ideas Excellent communication skills and ability to train and motivate others Organizational skills and service-oriented mindset About Us: OXB is a quality and innovation-led viral vector CDMO with a mission to enable its clients to deliver life-changing therapies to patients around the world.
