Are you an experienced Compliance Manager with a legal background in a Solicitors or Law Firm? Our client, a fast-growing prestigious law firm, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Compliance Manager to join their team in the legal services industry. As a Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the company operates in accordance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. You will play a critical role in maintaining their reputation and integrity by developing and implementing compliance programs and policies. The candidate will have a strong understanding of legal compliance requirements, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
To be considered for this role you must have previous legal sector experience along with at least 3 years UK based work experience.
The ideal candidate will have:
* A solid background in Compliance and Risk within the legal sector
* Knowledge of SRA codes of conduct and regulations
* Knowledge of AML regulations and requirements for law firms
* Experience of working within the legal audit and risk profession
* Experience of being customer-facing
* Excellent administration skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
You will be responsible for:
* Managing compliance inbox
* Advising on all SRA queries
* Advising on GDPR issues
* Supporting the team with maintaining and monitoring regulatory accounts
* Providing necessary training to the wider business as and when required
* Ensuring policies and procedures are up to date
* Keeping up to date with current regulations
* Producing weekly/monthly reports
Skills & Qualifications:
* Currently working as a Compliance Manager within a law firm
* Minimum of 3 years experience working within Compliance at mid to senior level
* Proficiency in using MS Office applications, particularly Excel
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail
* Excellent organisational and time management abilities to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a team
* High ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
* Solid understanding of the client’s business to enable you to suggest improvements to their business and operations
