Job Title : Mechanical Estimator Location : Reading, UK Salary : £55,000 - £75,000 per year Benefits About the Role : We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join a leading engineering services company based in Reading. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled estimator with a strong background in Mechanical and Public Health Pipework projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering accurate and competitive estimates while working closely with project teams and clients to ensure project success. Key Responsibilities : Estimate Preparation : Develop detailed cost estimates for mechanical and public health pipework projects, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Bid Management : Review bid documents, specifications, and drawings to identify project scope and requirements. Vendor Coordination : Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance with project specifications. Risk Analysis : Assess project risks and propose value engineering solutions to optimise costs and improve project outcomes. Documentation : Prepare and present bid proposals, ensuring all required documents are accurate and complete. Collaboration : Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure estimates align with project execution. Qualifications & Experience : Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years in mechanical estimating, with a focus on pipework projects. Technical Skills : Proficiency in estimating software (Ensign preferred) and a strong understanding of pipework systems and industry standards. Attention to Detail : Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop accurate and detailed estimates. Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
