Job Summary
We are looking for a compassionate and highly motivated Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to lead our dedicated clinical team. We are seeking an enthusiastic, good role model and motivated individual with a keen interest in caring for the elderly care population.
Applicants should display effective leadership and management skills in order to lead the team to deliver high-quality patient-focused care. You will be able to demonstrate progressive skills in leadership, advanced clinical practice, and service development. You will be joining a multi-disciplinary team that is committed to the provision of high-quality and patient-centred care, continuous service and staff development, and strong collaborative working with other agencies.
The successful applicant will work with the Matron to promote a culture that fosters staff involvement and a progressive attitude to service improvement, along with taking operational and clinical day-to-day management responsibility at team level using performance management systems. You will also work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.
Flexible working patterns will be considered for the successful applicant.

Main Duties of the Job
The Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in Ward 2, specialising in Elderly Care, holds overall responsibility for managing care delivery in line with Trust policies and procedures. The Senior Sister/Charge Nurse has overall management responsibility for ensuring high-quality care delivery within the ward, adhering to Trust policies and procedures. Their role involves providing senior leadership to the nursing team, facilitating regular supervision and appraisals, and managing resources efficiently. They also play a key role in coordinating multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth communication and continuity of care across services.
Additionally, the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse is expected to maintain clinical standards in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council's Code of Professional Conduct. They are to ensure that patient care is at the heart of service delivery and are a visible, supportive figure to staff, patients, and visitors within the clinical environment.

* Current 1st level registration
* Evidence of further education at Degree level

* Specialist knowledge in clinical area with relevant experience at band 6 or above in an appropriate area.

Experience
