The Role: Business Development Manager - Premium
As Business Development Manager you will:
1. To maximise the total income and profitability of Premium new business through proactive and reactive sales activity.
2. To increase Premium memberships sales, by targeting new business and lapsed members.
3. To help maximise occupancy in NMS and restaurant package sales, developing and managing new business relationships.
What You’ll Do
4. Be Proactive - Identify and pursue new sales opportunities for Premium and VIP.
5. Be Reactive - Manage new incoming enquiries, prioritising, filtering and developing them to maximise revenue opportunities.
6. Sales Strategy - Work closely with the Head of Sales Premium providing ideas to implement a new business sales strategy for Premium and VIP.
7. Maintain and develop effective communication channels and working relationships with Premium members and new corporate businesses.
8. Attend Arenas shows and networking events as required, to build relationships with new and existing clients, and raise the profile of Premium in the industry and region.
9. Ensure cross-selling opportunities are maximised across other NEC commercial departments.
10. Plan and organise workload and prioritise as required according to current business needs.
11. Provide sales forecasts, contribute to regular financial reporting on a weekly and monthly basis.
What We’re Looking For
We need someone who’s as comfortable in the boardroom as they are in a buzzing arena. Here’s what makes you the perfect fit:
12. Proven and demonstrable track record of achieving sales success in a similar industry or commercial environment.
13. A solid understanding of the events industry, ideally within a Premium/VIP offering is preferable.
14. Experience of networking and meeting new people in a business environment
15. Demonstrable experience and training in sales, negotiation and presenting.
16. Excellent written and verbal communication
17. Strong organisational capability
18. Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office
19. Ability to develop strong relationships with clients and prospects.
20. Ability to communicate effectively with business- people at all levels, discuss complex concepts clearly, establish consensus and attain agreement.
21. Tenacity and drive to seek new business and meet or exceed targets.
22. Ability to adapt information and communication style to the audience.
23. Dynamic and forward thinking with the ability to maximise opportunities and revenue, creative in problem solving.
24. Self-motivated, with the ability to manage day to day tasks without the need for close supervision.
