Job Title: Senior Hygiene Manager – Food Manufacturing

Salary: Up to £75K + benefits

Overview of the role:
This new role is a key position within the management team of this ambitious Food Manufacturing business during a significant period of growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Your role will be to ensure that the highest food safety criteria are met through your teams across a number of factories.
Your tasks will include:
* Planning the work of the on-site hygiene staff to drive continual improvements in hygiene standards.
* Developing and auditing hygiene schedules and work instructions to ensure all inspections and certification audits are passed.
* Budget management and reporting.
* Managing waste segregation and recycling services.
* Managing a large team including 4-5 supervisors.
* Assuming overall responsibility for the safety of self and staff whilst at work, ensuring that all requirements as laid down within the company handbook and health and safety policy are implemented, monitored, and maintained.
* Ensuring that all team members are suitably trained, understand their objectives, and are motivated to perform their duties reliably and punctually.
* Driving cost savings in hygiene and waste overheads.
* Embedding safety measures across all hygiene and waste handling activities to reduce accidents.
* Being responsible for the performance, conduct, attendance, and disciplinary matters for all employees in your team.
* Holding daily briefing sessions with your team to advise them of daily targets, previous day’s results, and any future news.
* Ensuring that up-to-date chemical handling training is provided and completed for all relevant staff.
* Ensuring that all team members at all levels understand their part in achieving departmental operational objectives.
* Ensuring that all staff are trained on new equipment or cleaning materials/chemicals.
* Assessing risk within the department and ensuring that all relevant risk assessments and safe systems of work are carried out, compiled, and kept up to date.
* Promoting the culture of Quality and Food Safety by demonstrating commitment to the highest standards at all times.
