Job Description
Are you ready to help us shape the future of the water industry? We’re looking for an Associate Water Quality Modeller to be a senior technical resource leading on water quality assessments in rivers, lakes, and transitional and coastal waterbodies.
At AECOM, we deliver innovative water programmes and projects through long-term partnerships with clients including water companies, private developers, and local government. Our projects also extend to the Middle East, involving some of the most ambitious initiatives globally.
Responsibilities
1. Build and check water quality models: Support UPM studies, permitting, and EIAs. Develop and review technical reports on model build and uncertainties.
2. Lead and collaborate: Participate in tenders, build client relationships, mentor staff, and support professional growth.
3. Ensure quality: Stay updated on legislation, use project management systems, and deliver high-quality outputs within budgets and timelines.
4. Lead project delivery: Work closely with clients and technical teams on surface water quality projects.

Minimum Qualifications
* Degree in Hydrology, Engineering, or relevant discipline.
* Professional qualification with CIWEM or similar, or near completion.
* Experience with water quality modelling software (e.g., MIKE+, MIKE21/3, SAGIS, CORMIX).
* Experience in model development for UPM studies.
* Knowledge of Environment Agency requirements for UPM/WINEP.
* Understanding of hydrological assessments (FEH, REFH2).
* Experience with mass balance calculations and statistical approaches.
* Proficiency with GIS tools (QGIS, ArcGIS, MapInfo).
