Introduction:
Our client, a leading provider of fire and security solutions, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Director to join their team in the Midlands. This pivotal role will focus on the strategic management and operational oversight of the service delivery team, ensuring that exceptional levels of customer service, safety, and compliance are consistently met. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, a deep understanding of the fire and security industry, and the drive to help the business grow and achieve its goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
* Lead and develop a high-performing service team, including service engineers, customer service personnel, and administrative support.
* Provide mentorship, coaching, and training to ensure the team is skilled, motivated, and equipped to deliver exceptional service to clients.
* Drive a culture of excellence in service delivery, ensuring that team members adhere to best practices, safety standards, and company policies.
Service Delivery and Operational Management:
* Oversee the delivery of fire and security services, ensuring all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
* Manage service contracts, including renewals, scheduling, and monitoring service performance.
* Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness and efficiency of service operations.
* Act as the escalation point for any complex service-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
Customer Relationship Management:
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
* Ensure all client requirements are met, from service delivery to compliance with regulations and safety standards.
* Proactively identify opportunities to improve client service, propose value-added solutions, and drive long-term customer retention.
Compliance and Health & Safety:
* Ensure all fire and security services are compliant with relevant legislation, industry standards, and best practices.
* Oversee the implementation of health and safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
* Regularly audit service delivery for compliance, quality, and performance standards.
Strategic Growth and Business Development:
* Work closely with the senior leadership team to develop and implement strategic plans that drive business growth and profitability.
* Identify opportunities for new business, market expansion, and service diversification.
* Assist in the preparation of proposals, bids, and tenders for new contracts, contributing to the company’s competitive edge in the fire and security sector.
Financial Management:
* Oversee the budget for the service department, ensuring cost controls, resource allocation, and financial targets are met.
* Monitor service-related financial performance and identify areas for cost savings and operational improvements.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in a senior service management role, ideally within the fire and security industry.
* In-depth knowledge of fire and security systems, including fire alarms, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarms.
* Strong leadership, team management, and coaching skills, with a track record of building and maintaining high-performance teams.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex service issues and escalations.
* In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements, including fire safety and security compliance.
* Demonstrated experience in managing service contracts and budgets.
* A strategic mindset with the ability to develop and implement operational plans that drive growth and profitability.
* Relevant qualifications in fire and security systems, health & safety, or a related field would be beneficial.
