Mechanical Engineering Manager

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager to join a growing organisation in supporting with leading a small team of mechanical design engineers.
This role involves designing and developing mechanical aspects of machinery according to project specifications, technical regulations, and business objectives.
Day-to-day Of The Role
* Leadership & Team Management:
o Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mechanical engineers, providing professional development and guidance.
o Manage project timelines, resources, and priorities to ensure successful achievement of milestones.
o Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment within a cross-functional engineering department.
* Hands-On Mechanical Design:
o Lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components from concept to production.
o Perform CAD modelling, simulations, and detailed design analysis using Solidworks.
o Oversee prototyping, product development, testing, and validation of mechanical designs.
o Assist the engineering team in specifying ancillary equipment such as motors, gearboxes, and pumps.
* Project Execution & Collaboration:
o Collaborate closely with electrical, software, and assembly teams to ensure seamless integration of designs.
o Work with suppliers and vendors to select appropriate materials and components.
o Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements, managing non-conformances effectively.
* Process Improvement & Problem-Solving:
o Drive continuous improvement in design and product development processes.
o Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* Significant experience in mechanical design, ideally with previous experience in an engineering management role.
* Proficiency in CAD software, particularly Solidworks; AutoCAD is also desirable.
* Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and hands-on fabrication and machining experience (preferred).
* Experience with mechanical analysis, including FEA and thermal analysis.
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
* Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
* Detailed knowledge of high tolerance assemblies, limits and fits, machined parts, and interfaces.
