What's involved with this role: Interim Senior Project Manager (Construction) Reference no: Bristol 5264778 Pay Rate: £410.06 per day PAYE 37 Monday - Friday, normal working hours This opening assignment is for 3 months City: Bristol Role is hybrid, with regular attendance on site in Bristol necessary. The Senior Project Manager (Construction) is responsible for the effective shaping, planning and delivery of large-scale, capital construction projects which are high-risk, high-cost and high-profile. Key duties: Lead the planning and delivery of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet the desired outcomes using appropriate project management methodologies. Develop and maintain detailed construction project plans, managing complex internal and external dependencies, and using the plan to drive, monitor, and report on progress, timelines, resources, and costs. Identify required skills and resources for successful project delivery, build strong internal teams, and collaborate with specialists to procure or commission external support as needed. Provide leadership and direction to the project team, ensuring successful delivery through ongoing supervision, support, and guidance. Proactively manage construction project risks by conducting effective risk analysis, implementing mitigation strategies, and preparing contingency plans. Oversee the project budget in line with the council’s financial procedures, accurately forecasting expenditures and managing any variances. Work closely with internal teams and external contractors to ensure resource allocation is aligned with project goals, ensuring smooth and efficient project execution. Key requirements: Advanced knowledge & practical, creative application of a range of recognised project methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2/MSP/Agile) and other programme & project management principles, methods, techniques & tools. Detailed understanding of the laws, regulations and standards associated with the development and delivery of construction projects, including, for example, the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations (CDM 2015) Experience of developing complex proposals and business cases that shape strategic objectives into deliverable projects and which gain approval to proceed Experience in construction procurement, contract- and supplier management to ensure that the right suppliers are sourced and that they deliver to their contractual commitments.
