We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sub Agent to join our team on a reactive framework, delivering projects in Plymouth and Cornwall.
Based out of one of our regional offices in Exeter, you will be responsible for overseeing a selection of schemes, collaborating with the existing team to ensure delivery in line with client requirements.
What you'll be doing
* Contribute to the development of Work Package Plans and Risk Assessments.
* Identify potential hazards and proactively implement appropriate actions and controls.
* Provide suggestions and recommendations for Temporary Works solutions.
* Ensure all plant and small tools are properly maintained prior to use.
* Assist in the creation and delivery of Task Briefing Sheets and toolbox talks.
* Suggest areas for improvement through observation and collaboration with the workforce and subcontractors.
* Ensure that the plant is suitable for the task before use.
* Monitor the performance of plant operators and appointed persons.
* Conduct Safety and Environmental Tours.
* Carry out Site Audits to check works and documentation compliance
* Stay informed about changes in relevant legislation.
* Ensure the Environmental Policy and relevant parts of the Environmental Procedures are effectively communicated to the workforce, especially to those engaged in activities likely to have a significant environmental impact.
Who we're looking for
* Experience in civil engineering, preferably within the rail infrastructure industry.
* Railway safety critical competencies (COSS - Sentinel)
* Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card - SSSTS or SMSTS qualified
* Computer Skills
* Strong communication skills with good interpersonal and influencing skills
* Solution orientated approach to issue resolution.
* Excellent role model for development of team members and demonstrates required behaviours to align to project and team objectives.
* Good working knowledge of current H&S Legislation.
* Strong knowledge and management of construction process in one or more of the following areas Earthworks/Drainage, Pavement, Comms, Structures, Roadworks.
* Experienced at producing detailed records and correspondence for commercial recovery.
