The Role
As the Pathways Accommodation Lead, you will:
1. Manage and support the accommodation team to deliver high quality services.
2. Train, motivate and support colleagues and volunteers so they can provide an impactful and responsive service.
3. Work with your team to create a safe, supportive and dynamic environment where clients have opportunities to learn and develop the essential life skills and confidence needed to sustain a tenancy.
4. Promote positive outcomes for clients that develop confidence, resilience and independent living skills.
5. Using outcome stars, take a person-centred approach to developing support plans and work with your team to ensure these are in place for each person they work with.
6. Cultivate strong working relationships with colleagues both within and outside the organisation; collaborating with external partners to enhance the support network for clients.
7. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
8. Oversee the maintenance of accommodation, ensuring they are in good condition and promptly report and follow up on any repairs or issues to ensure timely resolution.
9. Excel at prioritising a diverse and busy workload to meet the needs of our clients effectively.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
1. Team Lead
1. Team Collaboration: Organise team meetings to share upcoming communications plans and collaborate on developing new ideas based on current needs.
2. Continuous Development: Ensure the Independent Living Coaches have access to resources and training as necessary to develop their working practices.
3. Commitment to Improvement: Embrace a culture of continuous improvement in all communications with the team. Give and receive feedback to develop the way the Pathways Houses operate.
4. Performance management: Conduct regular 1:1 supervision sessions with your team and manage performance to ensure key objectives are met.
5. Volunteer management: Work proactively with the volunteer coordinator to assess volunteering needs within your team and recruit to fulfil these needs; ensuring volunteers are supported to feel included in the team.
2. Property Management:
1. Maintaining: Ensure properties within your area of responsibility are maintained to Decent Home Standard by reporting repairs and replacing furniture and equipment as required.
2. Compliance: Ensure that all necessary checks (fire alarms etc.) are carried out and reporting completed on a weekly and monthly basis.
3. Renewals: Be responsible for ensuring that properties have a preventive maintenance and decorating schedule in place and that these are carried out in a timely manner.
4. Tenants: Work with clients in the property to ensure they understand how to look after the property and what is expected of them for when they move into their own tenancy.
3. Pathways Accommodation:
1. Referrals: Ensure all referrals to the service are managed effectively in line with referrals and assessment procedures; allocating caseload to the team and agreeing levels of support.
2. Client Support: Be responsible for an agreed caseload. Ensure clients working with Probation comply with all conditions set. Encourage and empower clients to adhere to conditions of their tenancies.
3. Outcome stars: Actively listen and understand the needs of clients. Use Outcome Stars with a person-centred approach to co-produce support plans.
4. Support Plans: Ensure that all plans created are unique, inclusive and person-centred with realistic and achievable goals, including assessing and planning move on.
5. Support sessions: Provide weekly 1:1 support sessions to clients to engage them with their support plan and contribute to the achievement of their objectives and aspirations.
6. Welfare benefit support: Keep up to date with benefit system changes and support clients to navigate the benefit system to ensure their tenancy is not put at risk.
7. Specialist Support: Keep updated with any developments in specialist support locally and refer clients as required.
8. Partnership working: Liaise with partner agencies such as Probation, Courts, Council, Police and Social Services to ensure a multiagency approach where necessary.
9. Safeguarding: Ensure all safeguarding concerns are managed in line with policy and reported to line manager/safeguarding lead as appropriate.
10. Recording: Ensure all client interactions are properly recorded and all service offers and outcomes are entered clearly and in a timely manner onto Charitylog.
11. Innovative Services: Lead your team to drive engagement through a diverse range of activities and workshops for clients. Each team member is expected to deliver an hour-long workshop twice weekly; open to all Purfleet clients.
12. Informative Materials: Ensure you and your team develop and distribute materials to clients to keep them informed and engaged.
13. Move-on Plans: Ensure your team develops a move-on plan with all clients at the earliest opportunity, identifying realistic and timely options for their future home.
4. Administration and Monitoring:
1. Time Management: Prioritise, plan, and manage your time effectively to meet all deadlines.
2. Monitoring and Reporting: Continuously monitor, assess, and report on all aspects of Pathways Accommodation.
3. Record Keeping: Maintain detailed notes on all client work and interactions and record all team and volunteer supervisions.
4. Data Collection: Collect and compile statistics quarterly to facilitate the creation of materials, posts and reports which support future funding applications.
5. Communications: Provide photos and short quotes/bullet points to the Communications team on a weekly basis for social media posts and monthly newsletters.
6. Website: Review the information on your team quarterly on the website and feedback to communications team any changes.
7. Open Communication: Promote a culture of open communication and feedback across the trust, creating platforms for the team to share ideas, concerns, and successes.
8. Celebrate Achievements: Use team feedback to recognise and celebrate achievements and milestones.
9. Policy Contribution: Contribute to the development and updating of policies and procedures related to Pathways Accommodation.
10. Professional Standards: Uphold data protection, professional standards and safeguarding policies and report illegal activity as required.
11. Teamwork: Participate in team meetings, team review days and other meetings as agreed with the Growth and Development Manager.
5. Personal Development:
1. Training: Participate in mandatory and optional training to enhance knowledge, skills, and awareness.
2. Continuous Learning: Be aware of current housing legislation, welfare benefit legislation and other matters relevant to providing successful support to clients.
3. Stay Current: Regularly update your knowledge of trends and practices in housing and support.
4. Research: Conduct research related to homelessness and housing to expand knowledge and improve professional capabilities.
5. Additional Duties: Undertake any other duties as directed that reasonably fall within the scope of the position.
6. General Conditions:
1. Scope of Description: This job description outlines the key activities and requirements of the role. It will be reviewed periodically with the employee to reflect the Purfleet Trust’s ongoing development.
2. Performance Review: Performance and development needs will be reviewed annually against criteria agreed upon with the line manager.
3. Flexibility: The post holder must demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to adapt their work routine and work outside normal hours when necessary to meet client needs, including occasional evenings and weekends.
4. Travel Requirements: The post holder must be able to travel for company business.
5. Confidentiality: The post holder will have access to confidential information from various sources and must exhibit a high degree of integrity and trustworthiness.
