This fast growing entrepreneurial construction business has multiple sites across the country with a fantastic head office based in East Leeds.
The business has doubled its turnover in the last 18 months and has further growth projections for 2025 - this is a fast-paced, dynamic company on the upward trajectory of growth.
As a result of their continued success, the Finance Director is looking to hire a commercially focused Finance Controller, who will be number 2 in Finance overseeing the team.
The role is heavily focused on stakeholder management and business partnering, so it is ideally suited to someone with the ability to build strong working relationships and can influence and engage effectively with non-finance managers.
The business is keen to consider both experienced Financial Controllers looking for their next new challenge, as well as candidates looking for a step up into their first FC role.
Reporting to the Financial Director, the key duties will include:
1. Managing and overseeing a team of 5 staff.
2. Preparation and review of the Management Accounts.
3. Business partnering and managing key relationships across the SLT and wider business.
4. Review and interrogate monthly transactional postings.
5. Reconciliation of the balance sheet.
6. Weekly and monthly KPI reporting.
7. Preparation of the cash flow forecast.
8. VAT returns.
9. Budgeting and forecasting.
10. Assisting with the annual audit and statutory financial statements.
11. Assisting with ad-hoc financial and business projects.
12. Working closely with the FD in process improvement projects.
The successful candidate will:
1. Be fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA - Essential.
2. Have previous experience in a similar role within the construction sector - Essential.
3. Have exceptional business partnering skills - Essential.
4. Have advanced knowledge of MS Excel - Essential.
