Are you an experienced SEN professional, frustrated that you don’t have enough time to fully get to know your students and their families? Are you constantly left feeling that you can’t do your job as well as you would like to?
Due to increasing demand, we are creating an additional post to join our committed and professional staff team. This position offers the right candidate the opportunity to focus on meeting students’ needs effectively within an attachment aware and trauma-informed learning environment.
Our staff tell us that they value our supportive atmosphere, the chance to make a significant impact on a smaller number of students and the opportunity to be creative and autonomous. This post will suit an experienced SENCO or SEN professional who wish to further develop their leadership skills and who enjoy working in a flexible and child-centred way.
Our students often work at age-related expectations in terms of the curriculum, but need considerable support to develop their resilience, social skills and self-esteem. Many of our students have EHCPs and so it is important to have a secure knowledge of the processes involved.
You will be part of the Designated Safeguarding Team and work in a collaborative way with a range of external agencies inducing social care and mental health services. You will be provided with high quality CPD and supervision support, in recognition that we need to fully invest in our staff so that they can transform our students’ experience of education.
We understand that you may be apprehensive about working in Alternative Provision and we would encourage you to visit our website () and view our instagram (@ maldenoakskingstontuition ) as this will give you an insight into our students, their views, and the difference you could make to them. Supporting our students in developing positive relationships, self-confidence, resilience, and creativity is crucial to our ethos and our success is not measured solely by our academic results but by the views of our past and present students.
The post is based at Kingston Tuition, Duke Centre, but the successful candidates will have the opportunity to experience the breadth of all our provisions across the Kingston and Richmond locality.
