We have an excellent career opportunity for a Technical Specialist to join our Clinical Pathology Services team in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. The Technical Specialist performs a specialized scientific and technical role in new and re-validation of clinical and non-clinical assay method developments in the department of Clinical Pathology Services (CPS). The role requires liaison directly with the regional operational team and the regional managers to review up front parameters and to perform the required analytical tasks for a validation. Candidates given best consideration will have the following qualifications: - Strong communication skills - Experience in a clinical pathology environment with a working knowledge of the analytical methodologies used - Familiarity with project management - Exposure to method validation and data review - Experience working with different global groups The essential job duties are: - Ensure that method development activities are fully documented, observing the highest standards of Good Scientific Practice - Be aware of and ensure that validation work is performed to appropriate regulation guidelines for PD, PK, TK etc. - Responsible for the troubleshooting of assigned GXP projects - Undertake research and development work as required and directed - Undertake other duties and responsibilities as may be allocated from time to time by the line manager - Responsible for SOP initiation/revision/review as required and to act as scientific reviewer/approver for other initiators of SOPs required - Remain current with new developments in CPS - Able to provide, analyse and discuss scientific data generated by Clinical Pathology - Ensure that appropriate and accurate COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) assessments are made and in place prior to the commencement of in-lab development activities - Participate in the introduction of new techniques, methodologies, and relevant procedures in collaboration with other Senior Laboratory Scientists and Operations managers - Co-operate fully with other senior staff to ensure the quality and scientific standards of the analytical service are maintained Education/Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Clinical Pathology/ Biological sciences or equivalent - Knowledge and understanding of Good Laboratory Practice - Previous experience of within a Clinical Pathology laboratory and method development/validation - Methodical with excellent attention to detail - Ability to accurately read, record, and communicate information - Ability to perform mathematical calculations - Communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills Labcorp is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer: As an EOE/AA employer, Labcorp strives for diversity and inclusion in the workforce and does not tolerate harassment or discrimination of any kind.
