The nursery is a modern, fun, and vibrant inclusive day care centre, providing a nurturing environment for up to 90 children.
The Role:
Lead a Room as a Key Worker: Take charge of your own little world within the nursery! As a key worker, you'll be the go-to person for a group of children, guiding their daily adventures and being their hero in the playroom.
Create Fun and Educational Activities: From arts and crafts to sensory play, you'll be the mastermind behind the fun! Design activities that engage the children's senses, spark their curiosity, and encourage them to explore the world in new and exciting ways.
Keep a Record of Children's Progress: Track and celebrate each milestone, big or small! You'll document the children's growth, achievements, and quirky moments to share with parents and carers, keeping everyone in the loop about their little one's journey.
Build and Maintain Relationships with Parents/Carers: Be the friendly face that parents look forward to seeing every day. By maintaining open communication, you'll help create a seamless partnership between home and nursery, ensuring that each child's learning and care needs are met.
Support Your Team Members: Collaboration is key! Whether you're brainstorming new ideas for activities or lending a helping hand, you'll be an integral part of a team that supports and uplifts one another.
Create a Happy and Stable Environment: Your role is crucial in crafting an environment where every child feels safe, happy, and included. By taking into account their cultural backgrounds and medical needs, you'll help every child thrive in a place where they can be themselves.
Confidently Handle Concerns: You'll be a trusted confidant, handling any concerns related to children or parents with sensitivity and professionalism, always adhering to confidentiality requirements.
Adhere to Policies and Procedures: Safety first! You'll ensure that all nursery policies, procedures, and legislative requirements are followed to maintain the highest standards for safety, cleanliness, and hygiene.
Person Specification:
Expert in Assessments: You'll administer and implement assessments, support plans, and risk assessments with precision and care, ensuring every child receives the support they need.
Understanding of Child Development: Your deep understanding of children's developmental, emotional, physical, and intellectual needs will be the cornerstone of your approach to care and learning.
Physical Fitness: You'll need the stamina and physical fitness to lift and handle children and equipment safely, ensuring everyone stays active and engaged.
Team Player: Collaboration is in your nature! You're someone who thrives in a team environment, always ready to contribute and support your colleagues.
Calm and Caring Nature: Your calm demeanour and caring personality will inspire the children and create a comforting atmosphere in the nursery.
Knowledge of EYFS and Ofsted Requirements: You'll have a solid understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Ofsted requirements, ensuring that all practices align with best standards.
